That Was Lucky

The Newcastle Speakers Club Dinner for 2012.
Venue:     H&B (Corner of Hunter and Bolton Street Newcastle, F'mr ANZ bank)
Time:       6:30 pm - 10:00pm
Cost:        $45 per person (incl coffee and some soft drinks but BYOG)
Dress:      Smart Casual - no need for the jacket or tie, just whatever you would wear when out for a nice dinner with friends

The venue is so new that it does not have a license yet (or tables and chairs for that matter), so we are hosting our own party and bringing our own food and bev.  So we have decided to make it a BYOG event.

What to expect:

You will have exclusive access to the newest, most stylish, wine bar in Newcastle.  So new that you will be experiencing a highly chic 'industrial' theme.

The location is the former ANZ Bank in Newcastle, on the Corner of Hunter and Bolton Streets.  The current working title for the bar is H&B which is the name that the other ANZ branches used when refering to this branch.  The building is historic and grand and you will get to see the place before it is transformed.

One of the owners Tim Bohlsen will be ther to provide a guided tour of this historic building and outline his plans for the site.  You will get to see the bank vault and see what a perfect wine storage place it is.

Of course you will also hear from some of our speakers.

Speeches and Presentations from:
Tim Bohlsen (owner of H&B)
Tony Troughear (owner of Beer)
Lucinda Warner

Plus the awarding of the Tony Samway Trophy

Newcastle Speakers Club's Annual Dinner is shaping up to be a memorable event at an exciting new venue. I'm looking forward to hearing about H&B from one of its owners, and also to catching up with Tony Troughear whose speeches are always interesting. It's great that one of our younger members, Lucinda Warner is going to be speaking at our Annual Dinner, too.

What an excellent evening for the Newcastle Speakers Club. It was a fun, entertaining and interesting event.
Special Thanks to Tim and Justin for their hospitality and support of the event. Plug for Coffee on Crown - best coffee in Newcastle.
Thanks to Tony, Lucinda, Denise, John, Roy, Peter, Neville, Geoff and Neroli for your speech contributions.
Big thank you to H&B wine bar - Wondeerful Hosts
Remember you were there before it was trendy - when it had that industrial chic feel about it.
Thanks to La Belle Epoche for the wonderful food

An interesting and entertaining evening, complimented by the mystique of the transformation of a bank into a wine bar! Can't wait to see what the final result will be.

John and I had a wonderful evening, relaxed and fun. The perfect combination, good food, good wine and good company. The food was tremendous and the desserts and cheeses.....mouth watering. Thank you to Tim and Justin for opening their doors...and Nigel for encouraging them....I look forward to visiting H&B when it is opened and saying "I was there when".
